It’s an exciting time to be in Ames and Story County! I am so fired up about the great things happening in our community. Already 2019 is off to a fantastic start and the energy in our community is electric. So, it’s only fitting that the theme of this year’s Ames Chamber of Commerce Leadership Series is Charge.
Each year we host a series of events, bringing world-class speakers to Ames to support the leadership and professional development of our business community. This leadership series is a great way for our members to have access to top-notch training without having the expense of travel or spending time on the road away from family. This year’s lineup is better than ever and is sure to get you charged up for taking yourself and your business to new heights in 2019.
On April 10 we are launching our 2019 Leadership Series with a phenomenal speaker and entrepreneur. The Take Charge Launch Event features Libby Spears, founder of Bravo Communications & Consulting, published author and former professor at North Texas and TCU. She travels the country training others to find their “Plan Be” – a new way of thinking about who you are and what you do. This event will be a great way to launch our series, helping you to take charge and move forward.
In May we will host Leadercast, a day-long broadcast event featuring incredible leaders who have defied the odds to get where they are today. Past speakers include Olympic athletes, military heroes, Fortune 500 CEOs and leaders of social change. This event has built a strong following over the years and we have an exciting addition for this year’s event. Along with the national speakers, we are adding a new element by featuring stories from some local speakers as well. We are excited to introduce this new element and highlight leaders from right here in Story County. This year’s event will be Leadercast Super Charged.
Details for the last two leadership events of the year are still being finalized, but what we have in the works for you is well worth the wait! In July we will have a fantastic speaker showing us how to Lead A Charge to be your whole self and encourage others to do the same. And later this fall we will host our Get Charged Capstone Event, another fantastic event that will bring an inspiring leader to the stage to charge us up and keep us motivated to finish the year on a high note.
As you can see, we are bringing world-class leadership and motivational speakers to Ames throughout the year.
