Vote Your Voice: Change Starts at the Local Level

October 24, 2017

The city election is just a couple short weeks away. And while this election isn’t getting national attention, it is an extremely important election for the future of our community. The decisions made closest to us, ultimately impact us the most.

As a nonpartisan race, the city election is about selecting the candidates who we believe will be the best for the entire community. The issues and ideas being brought to the forefront are local and community-based. Instead of polarizing sides influencing our local politics, our candidates are building bridges and seeking consensus for the betterment of all.

After the November 7 election, we can have faith that whoever is elected will do what’s best for our community. They will represent our local interests, not those of a political party. They are our neighbors, looking out for the greater good of our community, and they will work diligently to make Ames an even better place to live, work and play.

This election isn’t about national politics, political parties or who you’re picking to win the World Series.

This election is about us. Our cities. Our homes. Our jobs. Our parks. Our hospitals. Our quality of life. Our future.

Whether you believe we are on a great path, you believe we have room for improvement, or maybe a little of both, know this: your voice can, and should, be heard this election.

Change starts at the local level.

Change starts with you.
