AMES, IA – Ames, Iowa, home to Iowa State University, announced the expansion of the technology company Vertex last week. The company is expected to create 300 jobs over the next three years, with many of the jobs exceeding $100,000 per year, and will construct a 60,000-square-foot facility in the Iowa State University Research Park.
The City of Ames totaled $143,364,740 in new taxable valuation in 2018, including 96 new single-family homes and 13 new multi-family buildings. The City of Ames and the Ames Economic Development Commission also continued improvements to the 1,350-acre Prairie View Industrial Center, working to make the newly annexed development area east of Ames a Certified Site.
