Ames Chamber of Commerce Introduces New Workforce Development Coordinator

March 6, 2019

The Ames Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission are pleased to welcome Allee Wengert to the team as the Workforce Development Coordinator. This position is new to the Ames Chamber, created after input from its 2018 member survey indicated that workforce was one of the top challenges facing local businesses today.

“I am excited that Allee agreed to join our team,” said Dan Culhane, President and CEO of the Ames Chamber of Commerce. “Our workforce solutions program is one of the most important efforts we deploy and her prior work experience coupled with terrific perspective will allow her to make an immediate impact.”

As the Workforce Development Coordinator, Wengert will be the lead coordinator for the Ames Chamber’s flagship program Leadership Ames, as well as K-12 and college student programming. She will also assist in Workforce Solutions program management and serve as staff liaison to FUEL Story County.

“I’m excited to take our workforce programs to the next level and build upon our business, leadership and education synergies within the community,” said Wengert.

Wengert originates from Ames, and received her Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Mass Communication from Iowa State University. Wengert started her position on February 11 and can be contacted at allee@ameschamber.com.
