Amcor Rigid Packaging Expansion Approved for State Incentives

April 17, 2020

Earlier today the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) Board announced funding approval for an expansion that will bring six new production lines and related investment to the Amcor Rigid Packaging facility located in Ames, Iowa.  This expansion will result in the creation of 42 new high-quality employment opportunities.

“We are excited about the opportunity to grow our business in Iowa and continue to build on our success.  We are a global company that offers people a great opportunity to grow and expand in a career.  Our winning aspiration is to be THE leading global packaging company.  It’s our people that will help make this happen!” states Blake Good, Human Resources Manager for Amcor.

Amcor Rigid Packaging is among the world's largest manufacturers of rigid plastic packaging for the food, beverage, spirits, personal/home care and healthcare industries with 59 facilities in 13 countries. They design, produce and supply rigid plastic packaging for consumer products.

John Haila, Mayor of Ames explains, “During this unprecedented and turbulent time, the City of Ames is thrilled that one of our local employers, Amcor, is investing over $3 million and creating over 40 high quality jobs in our community. They join a host of many other local commercial and industrial companies that help make Ames the strategic place to operate and grow their businesses. Smart Choice!”

Work will begin later this month to mobilize the new product lines into the existing building footprint. Amcor will be hiring the new opportunities soon.  Interested candidates should visit our website to apply:  https://www.amcor.com/careers
