Board member since January, 2021
What is the most interesting thing you have learned about local economic development by being involved in the AEDC?
Universities like ISU can be a valuable engine of innovation for new ideas, technologies, and solutions that can impact the local and regional economy.
Why do you continue to be involved in local economic development? Why is this an important issue for you?
The chief research officer for the university, I am passionate about our higher calling to create new knowledge and make new discoveries that can impact humanity and build prosperous communities.
What other involvements do you have in the local community/county?
I serve our neighborhood on the land scape committee and have served Scouting on the Executive Board (in Kansas before moving to Ames). I am a member of the Ames Area Wood Turners and Ames Area Woodworkers clubs that provide outreach to our community.
What are your favorite pastimes/hobbies?
Woodworking
