As we are entering the second half of the year, we are beginning to incorporate some new changes among our office. One of these big changes is the implementation on a blog on our website.
Starting an Ames Chamber of Commerce blog was a conversation that started back in November of 2018 among the marketing team. Blogging has become a trend among businesses as another avenue in which to get their message out to their followers, and we began to wonder if 2019 would be the time to join the trend. Ultimately, we decided that introducing a blog on our website would be another pathway to communicate our value to the Ames community and our investors.
Through this blog, we hope to build our community through valuable insights on topics relevant to our investors and prospective investors. We will provide more information into how we strive as a Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission to make Ames and Story County the #SmartChoice to live, work, and do business. As we start to implement this new offering to our website, you will see blog posts about diversity and inclusion, workforce solutions, public policy, and general need-to-know information about the community. Want to learn how to become a Homebase Iowa employer? We have a blog post for that. Want to know why we feel it’s so important to #VoteYourVoice? We have a blog post for that. Want to learn ten ways to prepare for the Iowa State students returning to Ames? We have a blog post for that.
Our community is made up of many diverse individuals, and we want our blog to represent these many voices. Through our new blog, you’ll have the opportunity to hear directly from several different authors. Chamber staff, our board members, and guest writers from throughout the community will all write on various topics in short, informal articles, meant to be read while enjoying your morning coffee every Wednesday morning.
Please join us in celebrating this next chapter of our marketing efforts. If you would like to write a guest post, or have an idea for our next topic, let us know!
