Audrey Kennis holds a B.A degree in Elementary Education and Philosophy and an M.Ed in Education. Audrey is the Retention Coordinator for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University. Previously she worked as the Multicultural Liaison Officer in the College of Design and has several years of experience working in diversity, equity and inclusion services, student services and enrollment management. She was a member of the 2018 Emerging Leaders Academy and 2014 Leadership Institute for a New Century (LINC). She is a recipient of the 2019 Martin Luther King, Jr. Advancing One Community Award, 2017 University Award for Inclusive Excellence, 2013 Professional and Scientific Council CYtation Award and 2015 College of Design Academic Advising Award.

 

Audrey is an active member in the community and is an advisory board member with the Story County Community Foundation, member of the Ames NAACP, and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Audrey and her husband, Matthew Kennis, are parents of three lovely boys who love playing sports. 

 

Audrey will share with participants how she has lead organizational change through self-awareness, authenticity and inclusivity. Using principles from her own journey, she will explore the importance of knowing one’s self, understanding the organizational mission and culture, and finding opportunities for collaboration.  Join her as she guides participants through a journey of empowerment and self-discovery to help maximize their potential.
